2017 Ford Expedition
Its dynamic front end creates a look that establishes the Expedition as the flagship of Ford SUVs. But styling isn't all there is. Expedition comes standard with LED fog lamps, running boards, and luggage rack with side rails and adjustable crossbars. Add available enhancements like halogen projector-beam headlamps; power-deployable running boards; side mirrors with heat, signal, memory and security approach features; plus power moonroof.
Expedition provides standard seating for up to eight. There's a 7-passenger configuration available with individual 2nd-row bucket seats. When more cargo space is needed, the 3rd-row bench seat can be folded down for a flat load floor. The 2nd-row split bench seats also fold flat to the floor for maximum cargo space.
Traction & Stability Control Systems
Ford Expedition puts technology to work to help keep you in control. Standard AdvanceTracTM with RSC® (Roll Stability ControlTM) enhances traction by reducing engine power or applying the brakes at the slipping wheel to limit wheelspin. Its two gyroscopic sensors help you maintain control when wheelslip, understeer, oversteer or roll motion is detected, as well as in adverse road conditions. Trailer Sway Control, electronically connected to AdvanceTrac® with RSC®, helps maintain trailer stability. And there's the available Control Trac® 4-Wheel-Drive System that helps provide more sure-footed traction, on or off the road.
Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) System
Expedition is the first Ford model to offer the Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) System with specially designed and tuned 22-inch polished aluminum wheels. A suite of electronic sensors continuously monitors 46 unique suspension, steering, braking and body motions, processing data hundreds of times per second. The damping system responds in milliseconds to help keep you confidently in control. Choose from three settings - comfort, normal or sport - for the performance feel you prefer. CCD is standard on Expedition Platinum and optional on the Limited and King Ranch® models.
The Expedition offers an available power liftgate. A push of the button on your key fob or inside the cabin (on the instrument panel or in the cargo area) conveniently opens or closes it, allowing you to easily load groceries, luggage or anything else. If you need really quick access to the cargo area, you can manually open just the liftgate glass.
PowerFold® 3rd-Row Seat
The available PowerFold® 3rd-Row Seat offers more than one-touch-up/down convenience. It can be folded and stowed under the floor for additional cargo room, a feature made possible in part by the independent multilink rear suspension.
Rear View Camera
Slowly backing up a big SUV, especially in tight places or when hitching up to a trailer, is not always an easy task. But technology helps make it easier with the rear view camera that comes standard. Put the gear selector in Reverse and the rear view camera transmits the image of what's behind your vehicle when you're slowly backing up. The large, bright, real-time visual is displayed on the standard 4.2-inch center display, or on the available 8-inch touchscreen (shown) in vehicles equipped with SYNC® 3.
Navigation System with Sirius XM Traffic and Travel Link®
Available Navigation System combines Global Positioning System (GPS) technology with 3-D mapping and provides voice-guided, turn-by-turn directions. Included is a five-year SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link® complimentary trial subscription.
