2017 Ford Edge
Bold Exterior Design
There's something inspiring about the power dome hood, raised beltlines and boldly sculpted shoulders around the wheel arches. It's a proud, impressive look with sharp angles and graphic lines. The wheels are positioned at the outer corners to give it a wide and aggressive stance. It's a cutting-edge look for people who actually live on the cutting edge.
Stylish Interior Design
You'll see the attention to detail everywhere you look inside the 2017 Edge. The quality and craftsmanship is reflected in the way that style and everyday usability come together in the modern, refined look and feel of the instrument panel, center stack, door trim, floor console and shifter.
Available Adaptive Steering
Adaptive steering dynamically adjusts the steering response of the front wheels based on how fast Edge is moving. At low speeds, adaptive steering allows the front wheels to turn more, with less turning of the steering wheel, giving you more low-speed agility. At highway speeds, the system further optimizes steering response, enabling the vehicle to react more smoothly and precisely to driver input. Adaptive steering can help the driver feel more comfortable and can make any drive more enjoyable.
The available Lane-Keeping System* includes both the lane-keeping alert and the lane-keeping aid. The system can operate during the day or night. Lane-keeping alert warns you through a series of steering wheel vibrations, which mimic driving over a rumble strip, should the system detect an unintentional lane departure. Lane-keeping aid actively applies steering torque*, which alerts you to direct your vehicle back into the target lane should the system detect an unintended lane departure.
Twin-Scroll 2.0L EcoBoost®
In addition to a twin-scroll turbocharger, the 2.0L EcoBoost engine also features an integrated exhaust manifold optimized for the twin-scroll setup and an active oil control system. A high-pressure direct-injection fuel system delivers the precise amount fuel and accurately manages boost and torque levels. This technology helps to produce 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque.*
Active Grille Shutters and Front Air Curtain
The Active Grille Shutters help to reduce air resistance and can help increase fuel efficiency. When the Active Grille Shutters are fully closed, vehicle aerodynamics are improved by reducing airflow through the radiator. With the front air curtains*, aero ducts are positioned on the lower fascia of the vehicle. Air is guided through these ducts and forced out across the front wheel wells, creating an air curtain down the vehicle side.
Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
Available intelligent AWD uses sensors to constantly monitor traction to assist you through all types of weather and various road conditions (standard on Sport). It balances torque between the front and rear wheels to enhance handling and maximize traction, typically before wheelslip can even occur.
The total passenger volume is 113.9 cu. ft. with 39.2 cu.ft. behind the second row. And when the second-row seats are folded down, you'll find up to 73.4 cu. ft. of cargo space behind the front row. There’s also the available second-row EasyFold® seat release that lets you maximize your cargo space with the touch of a button.
*Driver Assist Features are supplemental and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle. *Lane-Keeping System does not control steering. Horsepower and torque ratings achieved with 93-octane fuel. *Standard on SE.
